Struck in 1962 at the Royal Canadian Mint, this CA bronze one cent coin (KM# 59) features the laureate portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse and the maple leaf reverse. The obverse legend reads ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA. The reverse displays two maple leaves on a twig with the date 1962, the name CANADA, and the initials KG for designer George Kruger Gray. The coin is housed in a vintage 2x2 cardboard flip with handwritten text for Philip Smedley of Grimsby, Ontario.

Weight: 3.24 g. This coin retains its original mint luster with a red-brown color. Scattered dark carbon spotting is present on both sides. Minor surface marks are visible on the fields and devices. The vintage holder shows yellowing and rust on the staples.
