This US 1834 Classic Head Half Cent is struck in copper. The obverse features the Classic Head design depicting Liberty facing left wearing a headband inscribed with LIBERTY, surrounded by thirteen six-pointed stars and the date 1834 at the base. The reverse shows a laurel wreath encircling the denomination HALF CENT, with the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA at the periphery. The coin is a raw, ungraded example housed in a generic clear plastic protective capsule. This issue represents one of the later dates of the Classic Head series and had a mintage of approximately 141,000 pieces. Circulated example showing a dark copper-brown patina with areas of surface oxidation. Wear is moderate to heavy, resulting in softening of the hair details on the obverse and leaf details on the reverse wreath. No major scratches or rim damage are evident through the capsule.
