Description: A monumental French Renaissance Revival carved oak hunt bookcase having a tripartite glazed facade framed by four boldly twisted columns. Three shaped pediments and urn-form finials crown the case, the central crest carved with an owner's monogram appearing to read B. The doors open to adjustable wooden shelving. Three dovetailed lower drawers are enriched with naturalistic trophies, the central drawer centered by a projecting boar's head amid hunting horns and foliage, with related wreath-and-game ornament on the flanking drawers. Mark: Central crest carved with an apparently interlaced B monogram, probably an original owner's initial rather than a maker's mark.

Condition
Presents attractively with scattered scratches, abrasions, finish wear, shrinkage, minor separations, and small losses consistent with age and use. The central lower drawer retains dovetailed construction. Interior shelves show wear, staining, edge losses, and possible replacements or rearrangement. Glazing intact. Some variation is visible among the finials and carved elements.
