These hats were used from the late 19th century to the mid 20th century by both enlisted men and commissioned officers In its initial adoption. These hats were later on being used for specialized roles such as drill instructors. These hats are typically made out of stiff felt. This campaign at is in good condition with the chin strap being torn off, the cords is discolored from age, and the leather lining is showing signs of cracking from age and/or use.
