SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 4043c. Bbl. 4 7/8". Standard configuration P.38 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Walther in 1941. Left side of the slide is marked "P.38", followed by Walther's mfg. code above the 2-digit year of mfg. "ac/ 41", and the S#, with x2 Walther Eagle/359 proofs and an eagle firing proof marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved brown pressed resin grips. Standard dovetailed blade front sight and U-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching, to include the frame, slide, bbl., and locking block. MAGS: x1 blued steel Eagle/359 proofed 8-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: unmarked brown leather German occupation Polish wz.35 holster. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some patches, areas, and streaks of wear and thinning fading to gray patina, with scattered spots of light surface oxidation and pitting present overall. Grip strap has mostly faded to a gray patina. Bore is mostly bright, exhibiting a consistent scattering of mild to moderate pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, save for the safety / decocking lever, which does not drop the hammer. Grips show some superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sound. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting general overall wear, scattered handling marks, and scattered spots of age related cracking and crazing. Closure flap shows small scattered holes, likely from previously applied G.I. adornments. (26-2422/MLW). CURIO. $900-1,400.
