PISTOL WITH MATCHING IMPORTER BOX. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 5863k. Bbl.4 7/8". P.38 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser in 1946 while under French occupation. Left side fo the slide is marked "P.38", followed by Mauser's mfg. code above the 2-digit year of mfg. "svw/ 46" and the S#, with a French 5-pointed star marked on the right. Underside of right slide rail exhibits an Interarms import mark. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the takedown lever, extractor, safety lever, and hammer, which has been heated to a straw coloration. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved phosphate finished sheet metal grips. Standard dovetailed blade front sight and U-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching, to include the frame, slide, bbl., and locking block. MAGS: x1 8-rd. UNATTACHED ACESSORIES: matching importer box containing importer instruction manual. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some scattered spots of light to mild wear and thinning that is fading to silvering. Near mirror bore, exhibiting some streaks of very light to light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, to include the safety / decocking lever. Grips show areas of wear and thinning fading to silvering. Box shows general exterior wear, with several tears present on the edges of the lid. (26-2747/MLW). CURIO. $500-750.
