This hand-painted glazed ceramic figural rooster vessel is designed as a two-piece storage jar or cookie jar. The lid consists of the bird's head and neck, fitting into a base formed by a plump, scale-textured body. The bird features deep chocolate brown plumage with dramatic tail feathers finished in iridescent tones of forest green, burnt orange, and gold. The wattle and comb are glazed in red, while the beak is finished in a matte gold tone. The interior of the vessel is coated in a smooth cream-colored glaze. The recessed underside of the base is unmarked.

The jar is in good overall vintage condition. There is a break to the tip of one red-glazed tail feather, and two matching ceramic fragments are included for potential repair. A small chip is present on the edge of the underside foot rim. The surface shows minor shelf wear, light scuffing, and some rubbing to the metallic glaze finishes consistent with age and handling.
