A mid-century figural cookie jar modeled as an anthropomorphic sailor duck. The two-piece earthenware vessel features a cream-colored glazed finish with hand-painted decorative accents. The duck is depicted wearing a sailor hat with a blue rim and a blue bow tied at the neck. The reverse of the figure shows two painted blue buttons on the sailor collar. Facial features include blue eyes with prominent eyelashes and an orange-brown beak with black nostrils. The jar is designed with one raised webbed foot at the base. The interior and exterior surfaces are finished with a clear glaze. The underside of the base is unmarked.

The cookie jar is in good vintage condition. Extensive, prominent crazing is visible throughout the entire exterior and interior surfaces of both the lid and the base. Minor localized staining is present within the crazing on the underside of the base. No visible chips, cracks, or professional restorations are noted.
