Shank marked “ODA 853,” “Dunhill Shell Briar,” and “Made in England,” with partially obscured date coding. ODA denotes Dunhill’s oversized series, with the 853 being a substantially proportioned collector shape. Fitted with a metal shank band showing considerable finish loss and wear. Manufacturer’s mark to pipe.

Used condition with wear consistent with age and use. Carbon buildup and darkening to bowl and rim, surface wear to sandblasted finish, oxidation and discoloration to stem. Metal shank band exhibits substantial finish loss, scratching and wear.
