A commanding bald eagle perched upon a rocky crag, wings folded and gaze fixed on the horizon, the head lifting away to serve as the stopper. Every feather is separately modeled and the beak and talons are picked out in soft ochre. The round white plinth is lettered 200 YEARS 1776 1976; no maker's mark is visible and the maker is unidentified. Approximately 12 inches tall.
