Barbara Summers Edwards is an American painter known for expressive, painterly depictions of figures, animals, and Western subjects. A fourth-generation native of the American West, she earned a BFA from Utah State University and worked initially as a freelance illustrator before concentrating on fine-art painting in oil and watercolor. Her work combines traditional realism with lively brushwork, rich color, and an emphasis on character and narrative, and she has received numerous awards and signature memberships in national art organizations.
