Titanic Interest.- Fragment of wood from Lifeboat #12

Fragment of wood from Lifeboat #12, the last lifeboat to reach the RMS Carpathia carrying survivors from the disaster. It is famously known as the lifeboat that rescued Second Officer Charles Lightoller, the highest ranking officer to survive the sinking and whose heroism has been frequently documented. #12 was launched at 1:35 am with just 30 passengers aboard but returned at daybreak to rescue survivors clinging to the overturned Collapsible B. These included Captain Lightoller, wireless operator Harold Bride and Chief Baker Charles Joughin, famous for surviving in the freezing waters due to alcohol consumption. This fragment originates from a larger salvaged section and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authentication; with a limited edition postcard (4/100) signed by Lightoller's grandson, Commander A.T. Lightoller, and photographs of Capt. Lightoller and the overturned Collapsible B, v.s. (4)
