Original Certificate of Discharge issued to F. G. Raddish, aged 34, who served as second mate aboard S.S. Majestic from June 28, 1898 to July 21, 1898, and was discharged in Liverpool, bearing the stamped signature of the future Titanic's Captain, Edward Smith, and of a shipping representative, two “V.G.” stamps in areas for character of conduct and ability, as well as Liverpool office stamp, in very good condition, 21 July1898; together with includes a 4” x 6” black and white photo of Capt. Smith and a 2” strand of Titanic's mooring rope, procured by Mr. George Standen, a shipwright who worked on the ship at Harland and Wolff in Belfast. (3)
***The future Titanic captain served as captain of her sister ship, RMS Majestic, beginning in 1895, a position he held for the following nine years.
