Expressive southern folk art face jug was masterfully sculpted by renowned Georgia potter Reggie Meaders (1919-2009) of the legendary Meaders family dynasty. The expressive visage features hand-formed prominent ears, a strong defined nose, applied loop handles, and piercing green glazed eyes paired with an open mouth displaying individually articulated teeth crafted from white kaolin clay. The entire vessel is coated in a warm, soft tan alkaline glaze typical of traditional Cleveland, Georgia pottery. It measures approximately 8 3/8 in. H x 6 in. in diameter overall and is clearly signed by the artist on the shoulder. It is in good condition.
