Title: Pair of Ornate Carved Giltwood Italian Fauteuils Armchairs
Description: Pair of Ornate Carved Giltwood Italian Fauteuils Armchairs

Pair of Italian giltwood fauteuils in the antique taste, vintage 20th century.
Richly carved throughout with scrolling foliate and rocaille ornament, the frames retain a warm gilt finish and are upholstered in a floral patterned fabric.
The shaped backs, serpentine rails, scrolling arms and cabriole legs reflect the enduring influence of the French Rococo tradition, interpreted through the more expressive decorative character often associated with Italian furniture of the period.

Well scaled and highly decorative, the chairs make attractive occasional seating and would suit both traditional and eclectic interiors.

Structurally sound.
Surface wear, rubbing and minor losses to the gilt finish in places, consistent with age and use.
Upholstery with some marks and fading as shown.
