Playful, charming, and highly collectible-this vintage hand-painted ceramic frog planter embodies the whimsical appeal of mid-century Japanese export ceramics. Rendered in a soft, creamy glaze with subtle tonal variation and expressive hand-painted details, the frog's rounded form and wide-set eyes give it a personality that feels both nostalgic and sculptural.

The open back creates a perfectly sized cachepot, ideal for a small plant, succulents, or as a decorative catchall on a vanity or shelf. Its compact scale makes it easy to style, while the figural design adds a layer of character that elevates even the simplest vignette.

Stamped "Made in Japan" on the underside, placing it within the classic 1950s-60s export era-an increasingly sought-after category among collectors and designers alike. Mid-century Japanese, similar to Lefton and Napco and in the spirit of Jean Roger.
