The shooting star flower is also known as the American cowslip and prairie pointers. This modern botanical painting by Allison Cosmos lets us appreciate its sleek form of the shooting star flower. Popping off the rich graphite charcoal gray background, the nodding flower comes to a gorgeous point. A shooting star flower is a spring wildflower that blooms in purple, pink or white.

Acrylic on canvas, this original 24'' X 30'' painting is signed by the artist. Stretched and ready to take to your favorite local framer, the artist created a set of 10 of these mountain wildflowers. Other flower paintings in this series include monkshood, lupine, Indian paintbrush, pasque, prairie smoke, Columbine, glacier lily, fireweed and scarlet gilia blooms. Mix and match, stack, or display them side by side. Prints are also available on linen with a light neutral background.
