For your consideration is a unique vintage pair of ceramic spiral-twist candlesticks designed by Maynard Anthony Freeman for Freeman & McFarlin Potteries of California.
Both pieces feature the iconic mid-century modern twisted column shape and carry the incised "Anthony" signature on the underside. This specific pair offers a fascinating look into the factory's production history, as they showcase two different generations of Freeman & McFarlin's finishes and branding.
* Design & Form: Classic Hollywood Regency spiral-twist columns in a creamy white/off-white satin glaze.
* Unique Details: One candlestick features a striking, factory-applied distressed gold leaf treatment along the bottom rim, while the other remains all-white.
* Labels Included: The pair comes with two original vintage gold foil stickers showing different sizes from separate production eras, further proving their authentic California pottery heritage.
* Condition: Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Faint crazing to the glaze is present, which is typical for authentic mid-century ceramics of this age. The bases retain their protective felt pads.
These make a wonderful addition to an eclectic mid-century modern vignette, mantel display, or California pottery collection.
