Catal Huyuk, Turkey, Ca 7000 BCE. 9000 year old flaked obsidian blade from the largest and best-preserved Neolithic site found to date. Catal Huyuk, or Catal Hoyuk, is located in southern Anatolia and flourished for almost 2000 years. In 2012 the site was established as a UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site. This obsidian blade shows clear knapping on each side and was a tool used by inhabitants of this very early settlement. 0.75"L x 0.50"W (1.91 L x 1.27 W cm)
