Antique Brass Mongolian Hot/Fire Pot, measures 14.5''H x 12''D, ''beautiful old Chinese brass cooking pot, called a Mongolian or Chinese Hot Pot or Fire Pot. It is a large communal cooking and serving pot and the forerunner of our modern meat fondue pots. Includes the cooking pot with a coal burning base, chimney and handles. Base section is for hot coal burning. Base section has an upper base (with vents holes) for holding coals, with a lower section to catch hot ashes (decorative side vent design and side opening for ash removal). The round pot section has a deep bottom rim that sits securely on base and a center chimney. The pot lid slides down over chimney and sits on the pot securely. Hand crafted of brass. Circa1900 to early 1940's.'' One of the decorative scrollworked pieces on chimney is missing. Very Unique Piece!
