To the unaided eye, this piece appears to be in good to fair condition. There is wear along the edges from shifting in frame with paint loss measing 1/2" in diameter at lower left corner. There is craquelure in the figure, the horse and just below the horse. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals craquelure. The piece is framed in an ornate dark antiqued gold wooden moulding. The frame is in good to fair condition for its age with moulding chipped at all corners and along the left side. Verso: taped on old and torn paper backing, on Vose Galleries, Boston letterhead is typed artist's biography along with additional typed information giving title, artist's dates and value.
