The electric movement is powered by a 6v No. 529 battery, a single jeweled pallet on the pendulum crutch engages the escape wheel every 2 seconds (as the pendulum swings back to the right, the pallet rotates the escape wheel by 1 tooth, there are 15 teeth total), when the escape wheel makes 1 full revolution (30 seconds) contacts are made which resets the cycle by both pushing the pendulum to the right and sending power to the slave dial which is set to move in 30 second intervals; the iron A-frame movement bracket is signed on a brass tag “Gillett & Johnston, Croydon, England, patent number 194407” and dated 1923, the long steel pendulum rod has a heavy cylindrical pendulum bob.
