Chinese Qing Dynasty Mille Fleur double gourd porcelain vase. Chinese porcelain finely potted unto double gourd shape bottle vase, two conjugated globular body, heavier to the lower, gently rounded to narrow opening. Both bulbous exterior are delicately painted in Mille Fleur decoration, meaning the "thousand flowers design". The design symbolized "all the flowers bestow their blessings".
The dense millefleurs design features naturalistic blossoming peonies, chrysanthemums, hibiscus, morning glories, roses, lotus flowers, daisies, lilies and pinks amidst an abundance of foliage, the mouth rims with gilt bands. The bases and interiors are turquoise-enameled.
Mark on base, a six blue seal script -ZhuanShu- characters reign mark, QianLong Reign Period of Great Qing.
