An early 20th century ruby and diamond ring. The cushion-shape ruby, with vari-cut diamond stepped surrounds. AF. Estimated total diamond weight 0.50ct. Ring size N. Weight 6.8gms.

Condition

  • Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • One diamond deficient.
  • Ruby is slightly loose in mount may require attention.
  • Reverse of setting shows signs of damage, may require attention.
  • Diamonds fairly well matched.
  • Diamonds fairly bright.

  • Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents total carat weight estimation.
  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Some diamonds drawing more of colour tint than others, with small eye visible inclusions, some with chips and nicks.
  • Ruby is in good condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.
