Surveying.- Blagrave (John) Baculum Familliare, Catholicon sive Generale. A Booke of the making and use of a Staffe, newly invented by the Author, called the Familiar Staffe, first edition, collation: A-K4 (lacking final blank K4), largely printed in black letter, woodcut illustrations to title and other woodcut illustrations and diagrams to text, woodcut initials and decorations, title soiled, a few marginal repairs, modern cloth, [STC 3118], small 4to, Printed by Heugh Jackson dwelling at Fleete Bridge, at the signe of S. John the Evangelist, 1590.

⁂ Blagrave (1561-1611) was an English mathematician perhaps best known for his 1585 work The Mathematical Jewel.

Provenance: Rothamsted acquisition date 1916.
