Cal. 69. NSN. 44 3/4" Bbl. proofed near the breech "P / IB" & "M /1812". Lock stamped "1812" behind the reinforced cock. Musket is original flint. Iron trigger guard, buttplate, sideplate, bbl. bands, nosecap & sling swivels. Iron ramrod. Full stock. M1808 bayonet has an overall length of 17 3/4", a socket length 2 15/16" & a blade length of 14 3/8". Blade is stamped on the flat "EW". CONDITION: bbl. & all other iron parts have been heavily cleaned to a mottled gray finish. Lock marking is clear. Lock holds both full & half cock but needs adjustment. Ramrod may be original, but is missing its bulbous tip. Stock has various sm. losses especially at the toe. There is a carved "A" near the buttplate. There are tiny losses behind the lock & a glue repaired break w/ losses at the bbl. channel approx. 10" back from the muzzle. Fair bore. Bayonet has a dark gray, cleaned mottled finish. Bayonet shows no damage but may have been shortened during its useful life. (01-15514/BF). ANTIQUE. $800-1400.
