1) PRUSSIAN M1845 FUSILIERS FALCHION. Overall length: 24 3/4". Blade length: 19 1/4". Flat blade marked at the ricasso "P.D.L." in an oval on 1 side w/ crowned initials on the other side. Solid brass hilt marked "104.L.I.2.21." w/ crowned Prussian proof mark on the quillon. Brass mounted black leather scabbard w/ frog stud at the throat. Scabbard throat marked "107.R.7.102." along w/ a crowned Prussian proof mark. CONDITION: blade has a medium gray mottled patina w/ an area of oxidation near the tip. Hilt shows overall wear w/ mellow patina. Scabbard is unbroken but shows significant cracking & crazing. Brass mounts have a variety of shallow dents. 2) IMPERIAL GERMAN NAVAL OFFICERS SWORD. Overall length: 35 1/2". Blade length: 29 7/8". Blade is marked w/ a knight's head near the hilt & "A. LUNEBURG KIEL" on the spine. Blade is etched over half its length w/ various Imperial German Naval motifs. Gilted brass lion's head hilt with folding guard. Lion has 1 green & 1 red eye. Guard shows an Imperial crown over an anchor. Wire wrapped bone grip. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a light gray cleaned finish w/ areas of pitting concentrated near the tip. Hilt is quite solid w/ functioning folding guards. Wire is complete. Grip shows wear & cracks w/ a missing 1/2" chip at the pommel. (02-11447(2)/BF). 3) JAPANESE WWII ISSUE KABUTO-GANE KATANA. Overall length: 36 1/2â€. Blade length: 27 1/2". Blade has a nearly full length hi near the spine of the blade. Blade is stamped â€œ200699â€ near the brass habaki. Iron tsuba. Classic WWII brown painted aluminum tsuka. Gold painted iron saya. Saya appears not to be correct for this particular sword. Blade does not fully enter the saya. CONDITION: blade has a few shallow nicks & some slight discoloration. There is slight evidence of light sharpening. Painted finish on the tsuka is about 80%. Saya has been painted gold, likely by the veteran who brought it back. 4) JAPANESE WWII ISSUE TYPE 32 CAVALRY SABER. Overall length: 36â€. Blade length: 30 1/2". Blade has a nearly full length fuller & is stamped â€œ117231â€ at the ricasso. Iron hilt w/ wood grip. Base of knuckle bow is stamped w/ various Japanese characters. Iron scabbard w/ a single suspension ring. CONDITION: blade has a light gray cleaned finish w/ evidence of sharpening on the edge. Hilt shows light wear. Grip has strong checkering. Scabbard has a medium gray mottled patina. (02-11448(2)/BF). 5-9) 5 GURKA KUKRI. Having an average overall length of 16 1/2â€ & a blade length of 12 1/4". All have standard style blades w/ wooden grips. 4 Have black leather scabbards. 1 Scabbard includes 2 smaller knives in the kukri style. CONDITION: all blades show light wear w/ minor areas of discoloration. Grips are complete. Leather scabbards show moderate wear. 10) CIRCA 1850 AMERICAN NCO SWORD. Overall length: 28 1/2". Blade length: 20â€. Blade has been shortened. Brass cruciform guard w/ shield languets. Knights head pommel. Reeded bone grip. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a dark mottled patina w/ areas of pitting concentrated near the tip. Guard & pommel show a mellow patina. Grip shows some wear & discoloration but no damage. 11) MASONIC OR BAND SHORT SWORD. Overall length: 26â€. Blade length: 20 1/2". Swords of this design are thought to have been put together by Bannerman in the 1930s for use by York Rite masons & marching bands. Unmarked blade. Solid brass hilt w/ a Greco-Roman armor motif on the grips. Brass mounted leather scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a dark patina w/ areas of oxidation & has a slightly bent tip. Hilt is a bit loose & has a mellow patina. Scabbard shows notable wear to the leather & has an open seam on the reverse. 12) MIDDLE EASTERN SWORD. Overall length: 24 1/8â€. Blade length: 19 3/8â€. Heavily curved blade has a triple fuller & swells near the tip. Ornate brass guard, knuckle bow & fuller. Grip & pommel are a single piece of wood w/ checkered & brass decoration. Scabbard is silver mounted, red painted, cloth covered wood. CONDITION: blade has a light gray patina. Brass hilt has a mellow patina. Wood grip & pommel are undamaged. Scabbard has losses to the cloth covering & red painted finish but otherwise it is quite strong. 13) SOUTHEAST ASIAN KNIFE. Overall length: 14 1/4". Blade length: 9 3/4". Blade has a dbl. fuller w/ stamped star & moon decoration w/ writing in oriental characters. Brass hilt w/ brass wire wrapped grip. Pommel shows floral decoration w/ a raised trunk elephant. Brass covered, wooden scabbard has a similar floral motif w/ serpent decoration. CONDITION: blade shows minor discoloration. Hilt shows a uniform mellow patina w/ scattered areas of darkening. Scabbard is undamaged w/ an overall pleasing patina. (02-11449(9)/BF). $1,200-1,800 for lot.
