Central Coat of Arms flanked by four branches on each side, with family names, rendered in red and gold on black, oil on canvas, unsigned, in a Dutch style frame, OS: 38 1/2" x 34", SS: 30" x 25 1/2". Cleaned and relined.
Handwritten label verso reads "Dutch Coat of Arms bought at Sir Rowland Hodge's sale, Chipstead Place, Seven Oaks, May 14, 37". Chipstead Place, Seven Oaks, Kent was demolished in the 1930s. Sir Rowland Frederick William Hodge, 1st Baronet (1859-1950) was an English shipbuilder.
