A large and attractive bronze head of Buddha, Thailand, 16th - 17th Century, with well-defined featured and hair in tight pointed curls. Remnants of gilding on the ears and back of the neck and losses to the ushnisha. A very pleasing example on a lovely tapered wood base. Head itself measures 4 in (10.2 cm) in height, The entire piece is 7 3/4 in (19.7 cm) tall. Ex collection of Roy Davis, New York.
