Erte (Romain de Tirtoff) (Russian-French, 1892-1990). Signed Limited Edition bronze statue figurine, titled "Zobeida." Art Nouveau style model of a standing woman wearing nine golden bracelets on each of her slender arms, each attached to long chains ending in elegant gilt metal tassels. Inspired by the historic Zubaidah bint Ja'far, whose exploits form part of the basis for The Thousand and One [Arabian] Nights. Produced during Erte's lifetime. Signed ERTE and impressed to reverse (C) 1990 CHALK & VERMILLION AND SEVENARTS 283/375 with additional foundry stamp. Good overall condition, with age related wear to base, some loosening to felt at base, out of sight. Measures approximately 21 1/2 in. x 9 in. x 6 1/2 in.
