BIRMINGHAM, U.K. – A World War II watch found in a drawer in Coventry, England, could sell for more than £7,000 (about $12,160) at Fellows on Monday, August 8. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers. The military watch, worn by a German Luftwaffe pilot in WWII, was discovered by a family while sorting through their late father’s possessions. The family had no idea that the watch existed, let alone its value.

NEW HAMBURG, Canada – A platinum diamond ring featuring a 9.22-carat center stone slipped onto a new finger for $70,800, and a circa-1991 Rolex Submariner watch with a solid 18K gold case and bracelet brought $43,660 in an online-only Watches & Jewels auction held June 11 by Miller & Miller Auctions, Ltd. MONROVIA, Calif. – Two consecutive sale days were required to accommodate the wide variety of jewelry, timepieces, and coins on offer at John Moran Auctioneers in mid-May. The first day, conducted May 11, featured Fine Jewelry & Timepieces and the Studio Jewelry & Coins sale, and yielded pleasing results. Much of the jewelry hailed from established names such as Tiffany & Co, Cartier, and Van Cleef & Arpels, and the timepieces on offer came from Breitling, Panerai, and Rolex. Art Deco, Retro, and Indian jewelry did well, as indicated in the standout moments below.
