1. The Chippenham Auction Rooms has evolved over recent years, with greater emphasis on technology and the ways in which it has enhanced the business. Richard and his team offer a contemporary and efficient service to its clients, yet preserving the traditional principles of Auctioneering. All auctions are fully catalogued and are listed on our website, with illustrations, reaching a far wider audience beyond Wiltshire. 2. We have several types of auction, our monthly Antique auctions and three times a year our Collectors and advertising sales. The Antiques and Collectables auctions mostly comprise unreserved items from good local house clearances and items from private individuals. The lots on offer normally include a good range of Georgian, Victorian and good later furniture, glassware and ceramics, collectables, paintings and prints, jewellery, silver and silver plate and lots more. We also offer a select amount of good quality later furniture, catering for every price bracket. These auctions are fully catalogued, with some illustrations which are available during the traditional viewing times of Thursday 4pm - 9pm, Friday 10am - 5pm and morning of sale from 8.30am. Our special Collectors and Advertising auctions are extremely popular. This field of collecting is very buoyant and prices are as strong as ever, especially for enamel signs. We have an extensive database of collectors keen to purchase rare and unusual advertising items. Our commission rate is 10% for items having a value of over £1000 and 15% for any under £1000. We also levy an entry fee of £2 per lot and a 1% insurance charge to cover items whilst in our possession. All of course are subject to VAT.
