We have had the privilege to build our collection of Contemporary and Modern Art through the offerings at Hindman Gallery. Always great communicators and professionally work well with our preferred shipping agency. Their focused art auctions typically included Illinois artists that we prefer to support and promote. We curate our collection, and always peruse the early survey of lots so we can schedule time to participate. It has always been and will be one of our favorite auction experiences. This last purchase we sought out to include in a future museum exhibition was one of Illinois’s most recognized and prominent artists Nicolas Africano.

Quality all around!

Hindman runs wonderful auctions. But, I hate third party shipping for small items. Takes longer, costs more to get my lots. The shipper was great, but it's an added-expensive-step that I don't appreciate; especially on smaller items.

The in house shipping department for sports collectables could not have been less helpful. They just did not want to be helpful in any way.

Call 3-5 shippers for quotes. The quotes I received to pick up and ship varied by about $100 to ship one piece of pottery.

I’ve bought from other Auction companies and I’ve never had to pay that much to get my items shipped. Choosing your own party only gets more complicated specially if you’re out of town. I think there’s definitely room for improvement in this department. Other than that good experience

If buying prints they take them out of the frame for the auction so yo if buying on line you do not see the frame that comes with the print but they also did not put the print back in the frame before it was picked up by the shipper.

Mailed payment within 36 hours but it took forever to reach (or post) at Hindman's Chicago office. When I called to check on receipt they just said not to worry. I only worried because their conditions said they would start charging a fee after payment was deemed delinquent.

The two lamps I purchased were beautiful fairly and accurately described. However the “Victorian walnut umbrella stand” was definitely fdosent appear to be of the victorian era. It is much newer and not of the usual high quality sold by Hindmans.

Gorgeous items, expert shipping, great auction house!

I contacted ALL of Hindman's shipping partners. Not a single one was able or willing to ship to Canada. I contacted Jakiya, Christopher and their customer support to inform them of the situation. I found a trucking company that was able to pick up, propvided that it was placed on a pallet. Hindman refused to place it on a pallet, but nonetheless requested payment although none of their shippers would ship the item. They placed a complaint with liveauctioneers, which I disputed. This whole issue would have been avoided had they simply indicated on the auction that the item is too large to be shipped outside of continental USA.
