While fully satisfied with bidding and payment parts, I am disappointed with unprofessionalism of the shipping agent ARTA. They couldn't ship my item for almost a month and finally refused to do so claiming that knives cannot be shipped to Australia. While there are illegal types of knives as per Australian laws but the knife I bought was completely legal. Finally Leland shipped it with USPS and I received it without any problems and in the USPS timeframe. It just took me three weeks of waiting and exchange of emails with ARTA who sent me very unprofessional statements.

The auction, bidding, payment were smooth and uneventful. However, the $200 dollar charge for in house packing and shipment by UPS for this relatively small and lightwieght microscope was way too expensive. A week later I won two microscopes, one of which was all brass, heavier and larger than this one and also being shipped by UPS store locally for only $80.00. Admittedly, the microscope arrived quicky within 3 days but cmon-200 bucks for a single item weighing less than a pound and a half and the size of a shoe box? I feel ripped off by this in-house shipping charge shipping charge.

I am very pleased with the painting I purchased from LL, it is lovely. The Paypal portal was a bit confusing with my credit card but I was able to call and resolve the issue. They were patient and responsive to my questions. I used the local UPS store for shipping and they were also wonderful and affordable. I will certainly keep an eye on your auctions!

To this day I cannot believe I won this lot. Large (about the size of an elementary school kid!), well constructed, magnificent corpus reflecting 300 years of devotion and wear. I'm proud to be his new caretaker, and nothing brings me greater pleasure than seeing him safe and sound in my home. Glorious piece that was packed and shipped with extraordinary care and respect. I held my breath awaiting his arrival from North Carolina. Thank you, Leland Little Auction House for taking care of Him for me until he got here.

Auction house seems very well run. I called with a question and had quick and thorough replies and follow up. Item as described. I will note that shipping was a little more than other auctions for the same kind of item, and was packaged and shipped with the same care and service, just more expensive. Lots of additional fees paying through live auctioneers online, such that fees, premium, taxes and shipping added 80 percent to the hammer price.
