I purchased two French chairs and a mirror from them and drove up to NC to pick up. Items were as pictured and ready to go when we arrived. Everyone was very helpful and I have since purchased some silver flatware at auction from them.

The absolute appalling shipping charges for 2 small pottery figures-each one 4x4x4 inches was just unbelievable. They charged me $80.00 for UPS ground!!! GROUND!!! I have had much larger auction items from the east coast sent for that or less. I will never bid on another of their auctions. Stay away, unless you can pick up the item yourself. So disappointed.

This auction house is a bit of trickster for International buyers and i found very difficult to deal with. I contacted them before the sale in relation to the posting and their inhouse shipping, they said they could not handle at that time because they were overwhelmed with orders, so i requested any trusted couriers. Initially only one was given, "Daks" which was not local, as an international buyer i rely in their advice for this kind of information they cannot expect me to know their local services. I won and paid for it with my credit card through their web site i contacted inmediately the courier, he was helpful to begin, i was in a hurry to recieve the parcel so after a week waiting for their invoice, nothing in reply, after several emails i was forced to contact Leland and trying to see if they can help, it was then i found that the shipper was miles away and only go occasionally to collect items for shipping, i was furious, felt trap, paid item not way of retrieving it. I asked Leland if they knew other local couriers, only then i ws given that information, i contacted them inmediately none replied back, NONE OF THEM and still waiting. I was fustrated and hangry i threaten Leland that if i cannot find a way to ship the lot i will hold them responsible for it and i will fill a claim with my bank to recover the money paid. They panic and with a lame excuse that they didnt accept credit card for international buyers they refund the money asking me to pay by money order instead, weeks after the credit payment was accepted. I refuse to pay at that time i did not trust them any longer, so they filled an unpaid claim with LiveAuctineers. I hope this will provide an inside into this Auct House in particular as a warning for any international buyer if they want to avoid any stress, i want to add also that Leland wont quote for shipping what makes me suspect they will ask whatever they like for it once lot is paid. A trap.

Not many auction companies I have purchased from give a very accurate description of the products description. Accurate condition reports are most helpful in determining a particular bid. Not only does it help the buyer, but it adds value for the seller. The Leland Little team have been spot on when describing a product. Great service and quick to respond to shipping and pick up needs.

In the Leland Little auction on 5/21/20, I bid $50 on Lot 1306, four small pieces of pottery (tallest 6 ¾”). My bid registered as $75 and I won the item. Leland Little declined to reduce the price or cancel the invoice even after the liveauctioneers bidding transcript revealed that the higher bid resulted from someone else bidding $50 one second before me, and I was not warned or informed that I was bidding $75. I copied Leland Little (the proprietor) personally on two emails about this but he did not answer. An auction house employee responded, you bid it, you bought it, too bad. I paid the invoice to avoid problems bidding in future auctions on liveauctioneers. With premium, tax and shipping ($56!) I ended up paying $148. Ouch. (Part of the problem here is the bidding increment of $25. Under $100 the increment should be no more than $10.) Then in the auction on 5/25/20, I had a different problem. I put in a bid of $50 on Lot 506 well before it came up. The bid registered as $25, the minimum, and said, “You are the leading bidder” and “Your maximum bid is $50.” When the item came up it was sold to someone else for $50. As mine was the first $50 bid I should have won. The auction house’s response to this was, someone bid $50 on our own website, we give priority to those bids so you should have bid on there. How was I supposed to know that? How can they solicit bids on a platform and simply disregard those bids? In the first case Leland Little enforced an inflated bid; in the second case they declined to accept a timely bid. In both cases they refused to even acknowledge that their actions were arbitrary and self-serving; instead they stonewalled, in effect saying the auctioneer is always right. Buyer beware.
