Your message after the auction: Please cancel this order. I made the bid on my phone and did not see the damage to the table on the pictures until I opened the item later on my laptop. There is broken off piece on the side and water damage to the leather top. I will not be buying this table. Please cancel the order. Thank you and my sincere apologies. Message sent: November 13th 5:24 PM. Please refrain from blaming the auction house. The table is "Theodore Alexander Writing Table". Next time, read the terms and conditions and examine all photos before placing a bid. Thank you.

Excellent Experience (Again!)
This is my second time purchasing from Greenwich Auction, and once again, they've exceeded expectations. I won multiple items in their online auction-pieces I had planned to reupholster-and the entire process was seamless. Communication was prompt and professional with quick responses and clear pickup instructions. The pickup itself was smooth and well-organized with no wait time. Staff was friendly and helpful, and all items were exactly as described. What really impressed me: I bought these pieces specifically as reupholstery projects, but when I got them home, each item almost felt too beautiful to rework! The quality was so much better than expected. I did reupholster the bench as planned, but the two chairs I bought? They're staying exactly as they are-too gorgeous to change. Their consistency is outstanding-having the same amazing experience both times shows this is just how they do business. They're professional without being stuffy and clearly care about buyer satisfaction. I'll definitely be bidding in future Greenwich Auction sales. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a reliable, professional auction house with quality pieces!

Live Auctioneers shipping
Greewich Auctions was excellent. Live auctioneers shipping was terrible. They could have rolled five prints in a big tube and charged me $100 for a fat profit. Instead I got them in a big box with bubble all around and a huge bill of almost $500 The prints were simply slipped into a collapsed, used cardboard box. Two of them were not protected from the box in any way. I expected for the money to see excellent acid free packing. This was outrageous.

Wildly inaccurate Live Auctioneer shipping quote
Greenwich Auctions was great but Live Auctioneer's shipping was terrible. I submitted a pre-auction request for a shipping cost only to find the post-auction shipping was three times the original quote, ($519 vs $1700). Very deceptive and disappointing.

Would Likely Avoid
Greenwich was largely unresponsive when I tried contacting them three different ways to schedule pick up. Unsurprisingly, when I arrived on the agreed upon date, they were totally unprepared and had not even brought my item up from their basement. They then said it wouldn’t fit in their elevator and I would have to help them drag it up the stairs. The item also had new scratches & paint stains on it that the pictures did not show.

Greenwich AuctionOct 31, 2025
Our auction description always include this line "Please call us to book an appointment for pick up. * Please bring movers with you if you purchase furniture. NO APPOINTMENT-NO PICK-UP. We apologize but we only have one person in our store to locate furniture and he can not lift heavy furniture due to previous injury. You also have the option not to take the piece if it's badly damage and we could have refunded you.

Auction House Never Shipped Item-Ghosted
The Greenwich Auction House never shipped my purchased item, refused to hand it over to a shipper sent to them and refused to respond to emails requesting the item to be shipped. They breached their agreement, and while this was a small value item, is indicative of what you can expect. Suggest that buyers beware.

Greenwich AuctionOct 06, 2025
This item was from 4/27, 2023! You were sent invoices MULTIPLE times to pay for this $50 item, and then you tried to have the item picked up for you in JULY 2023, well past the 30 day window for pick up. We do not ship, we never have shipped, and your lies here are just plain silly. Seriously ridiculous.

HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE-DO NOT BUY
This seller is the WORST SELLER I have dealt with in over 20 years of art and antique buying. NIGHTMARE SELLER. They are not available for shippers to pick up on their posted hours on their website (or listed in terms of sale), even with 2 + days notice. They are UNBELIEVABLY rude-cancelled my sale after I had paid and my shipper was in route. Tried to reschedule pick up after they refused my shipper and they have refused to respond, much less issue my refund. Attorney has been contacted-YOU DONT WANT TO SHOP WITH THIS SELLER!!!

Greenwich AuctionOct 02, 2025
In fact, the way that you have interacted with our company has been nothing but disrespectful and horrible from the get go. Your sale was cancelled for this reason. Your complaints about us not being available for shippers, etc. etc. are false, and are obviously statements made by you out of spite, in order to try to trash us. And, in fact, you have indeed been refunded for the full amount of the purchase by LA. Please do not attempt to do business with our auction house again.

deceptive auction company. do not buy from them
Per the photos and descriptions all of the silver pieces I purchased had removable tops on the lids. when the shippers showed up to send to me one of the tops was missing and i was told that if you found it that it would somehow be magically shipped to me. i have been cheated. Your recommeded shippers charged me roughly $400 where the items purchased were roughly $300. if i had known the shippers would charge this amount i would not have purchased anything from you. this was from your recommended shipper. beware of purchasing anything from these people or using their shippers.

Greenwich AuctionOct 02, 2025
Hello. Your issue is with your shipper, NOT with Greenwich Auction, we DO NOT SHIP and no shippers work for us. Every item that leaves our auction house does so intact and shippers are responsible for signing for the item that they take as being so. We simply supply a list of shippers if people as for it, however they do not work for us, and it clear that you can choose to ship items using anyone you so choose. We are sorry you had this experience, but Greenwich Auction had nothing to do with the experience. The items left here exactly as they appeared in the auction catalogue.

Almost Total Waste
I won an auction item stated 7 vintage model kits "Pieces appear to be accounted for but not guaranteed, sold as is . 3 out the 7 models were total garbage. No one bothered to open any of the boxes to see if they were even remotely complete! The Mayflower ship had no hull, the Little T was glued together very sloppy, The gypsy dune buggy was partially glued together with white paint on the body, Now comon, if any one opened the box the damage was obvious, what am I superman and can see through cardboard boxes I have to depend on the sellers honesty which obvious was not there. So now I have 3 garbage model kits a total waste. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Greenwich AuctionJun 30, 2025
The description CLEARLY stated that we could not guarantee that all the pieces were accounted for. Whether we opened the boxes or not-no one could have even guessed whether all the pieces from old model kits were there. Next time take the description seriously.

Not happy with this auction house.
I would not by from this place again. It said the clock was working at time of auction. I could not get it to work. I contacted them and they never responded. I understand clocks are sensitive, but they should have at least responded to me.

Greenwich AuctionJun 02, 2025
Hello. Your money will be refunded immediately. Please use the phone to call us if you have issues next time. The consignor assured us it was working, but it seems it was not. Thank you and don't worry we will take care of this.

Descriptions were unclear which is critical for a web auction
Descriptions were unclear which is critical for a web auction, however the prices were alright, and communication from the auction house was great.

Greenwich AuctionMay 29, 2025
Hello. The descriptions were accurate for both items that you bid on. The painting is in fact a painting, not a print, and it is AFTER the artist which is clearly stated in the description. The screen is in fact also hand painted and carved and we do not agree it is a "tourist" item. If you think it is a tourist item then you probably should not have bid on it. All items were accurately described and all items are available at the auction house for viewing for a full 2 weeks before the auction. Thank you.

Poor quality and conditions items. Pictures, descriptions are deceiving!
The painting that I bought turned out to be a very poor quality work. It was made look on the pictures like much prettier and detailed, obviously photo shopped. Description was rather inaccurate too. It was heartbreaking, I was expecting a a very pleasant buy but it turned out to be a total disappointment. Other bidders beware! I live an hour away and chose to pick up in person. While I was visiting their storage/store location I recognized other items that were "passed" during the auction. Oh boy, they were described as "very good to new" condition but in real life they looked old, decayed and honestly garage sale level garbage... their pictures and descriptions are deceiving. BEWARE!

Greenwich AuctionMay 29, 2025
Shame on you Azary. Your comments are unfounded and obviously uneducated. The piece you bought is a unique antique painting on board with a bent wood beautiful frame and is a a stunning hand painted piece. We do not enhance any photos, ever. And we have NO idea what you are talking about regarding your visit to our showroom location-nothing is marked passed and everything here is beautiful and displayed for anyone to see-we have 33 thousand square feet!! We do not use "very good to new" as a description for anything unless it is in an original box or is actually new. You could have come to see the painting in person, but you did not. You have gone out of your way to be misleading and, shame on you. Not to mention, we have thousands of positive reviews on Live Auctioneers and Invaluable. Never bid in our auctions again because you are blocked. And we will advise Live Auctioneers that you should be blocked from ever bidding again on their site as well. You are officially blocked.

This auction was a horror show in the extreme. BAD all around
Sorry, this company FAILED to perform. I never got my items.

Greenwich AuctionApr 22, 2025
Hello. This is by no means, an honest review of your experience. You won an item $30. Part of the item was not available at the time of pick up and you were immediately refunded for the full amount of the transaction. There was nothing "Bad" all around. What a shame that you choose to hurt our company with false words.

Buyer Beware: Shill Bidding and Misleading Practices
I received the items I won and they were generally as described, but the photos and descriptions left much to be desired. Several notable condition issues were not mentioned in the listings — while technically visible if you scrutinized the photos very closely, I believe a responsible auctioneer should have pointed these out clearly, out of basic honesty and integrity. Pickup was also frustratingly disorganized. Despite calling 24 hours in advance, none of my items were prepared, and it took nearly 45 minutes for staff to locate everything. My biggest concern, however, is the apparent pattern of shill bidding. It’s clear that “floor bids” are being used to push online bidders to their max bids, only for the bids to then revert and the items sell at the highest possible price. This is not only unethical — it’s illegal. Items that don’t meet their desired prices often mysteriously reappear in future auctions, which further supports this pattern. Numerous other reviewers have noted this, and after reporting my concerns to LiveAuctioneers, I unfortunately received no response. The excuse often given in other reviews — that items don’t sell “below estimate” — is a misrepresentation of what an estimate actually is. Estimates are meant to provide a general idea of value, not to act as a hidden reserve. Using estimates in this way to justify price manipulation is deceptive and undermines buyer confidence. These practices erode trust and damage the credibility of the auction industry as a whole. Be sure to lookup there Google Reviews as well, they give a clearer picture of the businesses practices.

Greenwich AuctionApr 22, 2025
Hello. There is no "shill" bidding and you should be very careful what you accuse people of. If an item does not reach the low estimate we are under NO obligation to sell it as there is a consignor contracted to receive certain amounts for the sale of their items. You spout off about what you think you know about this business but you only consider yourself in the equation. Estimates are provided as guidance for what an item is intended to sell for, not as nonsensical numbers that have no meaning. Please do not bid in our auctions again if you don't like our terms and conditions.

never do business with greenwich auction.
they will cheat you. i will never buy from them again.

Greenwich AuctionMar 20, 2025
You have no reason to condemn Greenwich Auction. NO ONE cheated you. You bid on a carpet that had a very specific catalog description that specifically noted that the carpet had a lot of loss and that it was being sold as is. You decided to bid on this carpet anyway and won the bid. We did not cheat you-not at all.
