This auction house often have very nice things that attract me, and I have ordered a few times. However, this purchase and a prior one were very disappointing. There was some scratching I was expecting from the photos, but they definitely appeared to be in not as good condition as the photo made it look. Also they were described as Lacquer. They definitely present as lacquer in the photo, but I am pretty sure they are some kind of plastic or other similar material. They do have a high lacquer like shine. There are 3 boxes, they stack. Some scrathes were apparent on the biggest box, but the smaller ones were shown in a stacked open fashion so the scratches were not shown. All in all, I would not have bid on them at all, and certainly wouldn't have anticipated that they were not the value as presented, and add to that buyers premiums, other fees, tax and shipping etc. I know I wasn't scammed, but it feels like it. Buyers remorse I suppose. I have to be more mindful when I bid at Lakeland. Some items are great and then there are those that are just not what they present as.

I am fairly new at the auction process and Lakeland antique bazaar. Made it very easy! The shipping was reasonable and before I knew it, the items showed up at my house.

This was an extremely disapppointing item. I feel duped or like I was baited to buy an authentic item and ended up with something from a restaurant supplier. Seems like plastic too. Somewhat eavy plastic or a similar material. I eat in enough japanese restaurants to see that the item that I received is just very likely a plastic item sold to restsurants by supply houses or one that I could have bought on my own at Asian store or grocery, or non auction site, and done so for a fraction of what it ended up costing. Looks and feels like an ordinary bowl that sushi is served in. Certainly nothing special. I buy collectible Asian "food stacking items * and that are usually authentic, and this is one is nothing like them. And to add insult to injury it was $35, but all in, it more than doubled to $80 with: Premiums. Tax. Shipping. Internet fees. Even if it was authentic, $35 should not morph to $80. Most definitely I will hesitate to buy from this auctioneer again, but if I finf something that really interests me i will check any items much more carefully carefully. Buyer Beware Caveat Emptor

Do your homework. Nice pieces but be careful on glass patterns if you're looking for something specific.
