I recently won a lot of items. I bid on the lot because I wanted items in the photo of the lot and that were listed in the description of the lot. I was excited to win the lot. Contacted auction house and Philly mailroom to ship items to me. Thought everything was good until I received the box from Philly mailroom. After opening the box it had four items in it and missing the other pictures and binder of items that I bid on the lot for. I can not say how disappointed I was after paying over $50 for the shipping of the items. I immediately contacted Philly mailroom and was told they shipped all the items that were given to them by B. S. Slosberg Auctions. They told me they would contact Slosberg the next day then call me, which they did. I was told that this was all the items they had for this lot and there were no more items. Again very disappointed in winning an auction only to find out that you paid for items, paid buyer’s premium, and shipping to get nothing that you wanted!!! After contacting Philly mailroom they agreed with me and immediately sent me a check for the lot which was $30. I still paid the buyers premium and shipping, contacted Slosberg again and they agreed to refund the buyers premium now only out the $50 that I paid for the shipping and my own time spent figuring this all out!! I just can not believe that Slosberg can auction items that they do not have in the photo and also in the description of the lot and not care about the bidder!!! I am so disappointed that I am out my money for the shipping of items I do not want, my time dealing with this mess, and most importantly not getting the items that I won!!! I will never trust Slosberg again!!! BEWARE!!

All went well with the auction and sale. There were no glitches and item photos and description were spot on. I used Philadelphia Mailroom for packing & shipping. I was surprised at the packing cost, around $50 for my item, until I received it. It was a fragile item and was so heavily wrapped in bubble wrap and packed with styrofoam peanuts I was very impressed. It arrived undamaged and ready for me to rewrap as a gift. I had also won a very similar item at a different auction and used that auction house's recommended shipper. The item I received from the other auction company shipper was 1/2 the price for packing but was not as well wrapped and arrived with 2 pieces broken off of it. Thank you to Philadephia Mailroom for knowing how to pack delicate items to keep them safe from the wreckless handling that most shippers provide.

The auction house itself is fine, it's their recommended shipper, Philadelphia Mailroom, that is the problem. Incredibly poor packaging, damaged items, and promised refunds that never materialized. If you're local, go for it, but if you're not then buy at your own risk.

I have purchased from several Slosberg Auction sales. The quality is excellent with items as described. They are responsive to any questions as well. My only concern is that shipping, which has gotten expensive everywhere, just seems to be more costly in Philadelphia. Reminder to remember shipping costs when placing bids.
