Best auction house ever for authentic artifacts, customer service, and excellent self ranged shipping.

I purchased 2 figurine supposedly precolumbian and made of tumbaga (gold copper mixture usually 50/80 % gold). At the reception of the items, I had them tested and both were 100 % fakes with no gold at all in them! 1 item can be a mistake but 2 is a more a pattern. I told the owner of the auction house and he refused to refund them (in opposition with its store policy) because a minuscule mark had been made on them to analyse them and prove they were fakes! I asked him to delete its many other fake Tumbaga gold item from inventory to protect its customers but he didn’t seem to care! I want a refund but it frightens me because after I send them Back I am Convinced that he will try to resell them and scam other people with them. If you check its full inventory you will see mostly stone artifacts (meaning that thermoluminescence or carbon 14 test can’t be used to prove Authenticity) = impossible to prove their true origin! If he choose to scam People or at the minimum refuse to repair its mistakes (but what do You call doing twice the same mistake and not repairing them …..) with fake Tumbaga gold, what is he doing with the rest of its inventory which can’t be truly analyse like all any other items made of terracotta/wood/…? BE CAREFUL! Better play it safe when you buy antiques.

These people seem to be understanding and patient when customers have issues. They are cognizant of potential obstacles inherent in the process and will go out of their way to explain and attempt to rectify your concerns. I have issues from time to time, but unlike other auction sites I could name, they've been fully engaged in helping me work through them. I will undoubtedly be using their service again... and again.

I was the successful bidder on an item that was described differently on the auction website than the stamp on the item actually suggests. I emailed the auction house yesterday, so am waiting to hear back. But I cannot give more than 1 star at this point. I wouldn’t have even bid on the item if it is in fact not as described on the auction site. I hope I’m wrong.

Great experience. Heartland mentioned an illegible signature on this pottery, but provided excellent photos so one could actually see that it was signed by Felix Ortiz, a highly regarded first generation potter of Mata Ortiz. Kudos for Heartland! And the in-house packing and shipping was perfect. Superb packing of pottery, economical and quick shipping. It doesn't get better than that!
