I had the item I purchased (an “antique” tapestry) professionally appraised after the auction, and it was confirmed to be a reproduction with virtually no value. The listing failed to disclose that the tapestry’s labeling was fake, and that the description of its origin, maker, age, and value were entirely inaccurate. The auction house has refused my offer to return the item for a refund, and LiveAuctioneers has been unhelpful in resolving the issue. Extremely disappointed by the misleading listing and false advertising, which inflated the final sale price far beyond its actual value. Watch out!
