Their auctgion was at 10pm eastern time, making it almost 1AM before my lot came up for bid. This seemed very strange to me. Also their merchandise was mainly jewelery and the minimum bid seemed to me to be much higher than most items deserved.

I won an item several months ago from this auction house. They still have not sent it. How can they auction an item that they do not have? When I complained after paying shipping and not receiving, they said it was on back order? How can an antique or rare bronze item be on back order. I still have not received my purchase. Beware

The so call art was overpriced and is of low quality and value! Shipping cost was over the top for this quality item. Similar pieces are found in Kirkland stores for $75. Cheaply made. I have requested a refund and no response. Stay away from this vendor.

One of the better auction houses with excellent customer service

At least in the case of my recent purchase, the auction price was reasonable AND the price included shipping! This is a tremendous benefit! In many cases, the savings represented buying something at auction for much less than estimated value is offset by the cost of shipping, sometimes double the purchase price or estimated value for an ordinary item (not a piece of furniture or something concrete.). This is a real value!!!

I purchased two items at Auction. One was received in satisfactorily. The larger item, a 37 inch Bronze sculpture of a Bald Eagle, broken upon receipt, which I feel was probably due to faulty packaging. The restocking fee is 50 % which means I would be at a loss of $900.00! No way! I am in search of finding someone who can repair the sculpture, which is at my further expense. As such, Sterling has lost further business from me.

This was my first purchase on this site and it led me to believe all purchases would be this easy which is not the case. I couldn’t tell there was a blue glaze on this bronze schulpture. It said it was museum quality, when really it was cheap faux antique shop quality. I want happy but that’s the chance you take when viewing items from a distant photograph. Always request a close up image.

Unlike other houses with which I have had quite satisfactory experiences, I would be very, very cautious about this house in the future.-Lots which never went up for bid, despite giving Live Auct. a transcript claiming that they did! This is very disturbing, in that it gives a very bad smell which goes beyond human error.-Notifications that my won lots had already been shipped, even though they never were, and it took two weeks of persistent probing for them to finally explain that they had never actually been shipped and why there was such a delay. It was only after writing to Live Auctioneers that the house actually shipped the final item.-Why would any house skip auctioning dozens of lots during a live auction, even when pre-bids had already been placed? And after doing so, why would the house not admit that they had grossly bungled the auction, rather than providing a transcript which does not reflect what actually took place?

It was a pleasure obtaining the items I wanted from European Bronze Finery. The quality need not be questioned and the price was more than reasonable. I will/would purchase from them again.
