Will do business again but shipping is high

Service was very good. However, the bronze received did have a few damages that were not disclosed or evident in the pictures. The reins were broken and one of the spurs was broken off. Overall, I would still consider the condition as very good, so not a major complaint.

Very nice folks to deal with, a little slow on the response time for a question, but ok. The only negative is their flat fee for their own shipping (very high for such a little item), so it is wise to go outside for shipment if the item is small.

I've just received the Maurice Herault painting that I bought at The Heritage Gallery's New Year's Day auction. It took me a while to find the right option for shipping after not taking advantage of the reasonable quote offered by LiveAuctioneers that was valid for ten days after the auction. In retrospect, I now know how reasonable their quote was, and I would encourage other bidders to take advantage of it. Once that ten-day window closes, LiveAuctioneers can still ship the item for you, but the price changes dramatically. The real lifesaver in the end was the gentleman at Eastport Pack and Ship, who picked up the painting for me, packed it and sent it to me by FedEx for a reasonable price. The auction house was patient with me as I sorted out this delivery dilemma. This has been a learning experience for me as I navigate my way through the various auction houses on LiveAuctioneers.

Heritage Gallery referred to the item as a pitcher and listed the measurements as 12 "tall x 11" wide. In reality it only measures 6 "tall and 7" wide. It is not a pitcher, it is a creamer or milk jug. While the 3rd image on the listing includes a soda can next to the item and gives a more accurate idea of the size, when bidding live on the console you cannot see other pictures! You can only see the main image and the description. I was not pleased that the size was drastically different and that it is not a pitcher which can be used as a stand alone item and it was part of some sort of a tea or coffee set. They did not address my problem with this purchase by taking the item back or issuing a partial refund/credit and I am not happy with their errors and response.

GREAT AUCTION HOUSE

The auction house was fine but the independent shipper was outrageous. Over $80 to ship one small item that was purchased for $35. Twice the price of other shippers. Unfortunately they were the only ones available. I will not purchase from this auction house again because of the shipping company.

Item as described and shown in multiple pictures. The shipper list provided was easy to deal with and provided great service.

I purchased an antique item which required two different shipments to bring overseas at great expense. It then arrived only to find they’d sticky taped their auction label DIRECTLY ONTO FRAGILE GOLD paint which obviously peeled all the paint straight off. There’s a huge rectangle strip of paint missing down one of the main parts causing irreparable damage. And to top it off, they’ve completely ignored me when I reached out. Abysmal company. Avoid them at all cost!

What a great bunch of people who work at The Heritage Gallery@ Sayville Antiques, they have so many great treasures, I look forward to getting more great items from them
