Only negative was the in house shipping. Although the packing was great it was easily 3 times the price what it should have been and took 3-4 weeks to ship out. Good auction to deal with i would just recommend a UPS store instead of the in house shipping

I had never purchased an item from Thomaston Place Auction before and needed help with the shipping. A representative by the name I believe was Allan was so helpful. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He made the experience a very positive one. I will purchase again because of the fabulous service.

Will never NEVER NEVER bid at this house again. I have several complaints, 1st my Crock I bought for 1400.00 has a hairline crack along the bottom they did not disclose nor showed the bottom in pics. I also had them slip one higher bid in on me on a dresser I was winning I placed another bid immediately they did not accept and closed auction quick as blink! Then would not return several of my calls. There are other complaints about their practice with Better Business Bureau along this same line. UN-TRUST WORTHY! Crooks!

The Japanese lady with child was listed as ivory. But it is anything but ivory. My friend looked carefully. He thought this was resin. Contacted auction house. They required an expert certification before refund. To get an expert certification will probably cost more than the item's price.

Excellent item, as described. Item was expertly packaged, and in-house shipping charges were very reasonable.

Decanter I purchased was a “marriage.” The stopper did not match the decanter even though the description implied it was all original. The proof was in the etching on the decanter and stopper which did not match. I had to contact them numerous times and eventually got somebody secondary, who said they would speak to the supervisor and get back to me, but didn’t think they would do anything which in fact, they never got back to me or did anything. So very disappointing especially from a repeat customer. This will be my last purchase from this auction house.

Great Customer Service-Always

I liked the items, but the shipping was way too much. They told me the shipping would be about $90, but they charged me $175 instead. I complained about it, and they took off $10. Took weeks to get here, too. Not sure how much longer I will be bidding with shipping becoming so ridiculous. Cheaper to buy on ebay. Shipping is cheap, items arrive fast, and no high premiums, like almost 30 % in some cases. Sad.

Bought a lot of toys for a specific item. When I unpacked I noted the one cast iron had been broken, drilled and wired together. This was not disclosed in description, and did show in their one photo of the lot. I sent two emails asking to discuss this matter with no response. I’m done dealing with Auction Houses who mislead descriptions and have no customer service.

The descriptions and photos are accurate. Additional information is provided promptly and accurately. What is outstanding and noteworthy is the post auction support that this house provides. Communications are open, honest, timely and straight forward. Issue resolution is rapid and done with a high degree of professionalism. All staff were extremely helpful and responsive. I will be adding this house to sites that I visit in the future. Impressive.

Shipping is way to expensive. To expensive to ship two coins. only costs $4.85 via USPS and the packaging no more than $2.

Auction house did not have good customer support for shipping etc Listed some local providers who were non responsive... took over a month to finally get product with no help from Auction house Would no use again.

I bought numismatic coins from Thomaston Place. I live in Texas and was charged sales tax which is not required from Texas. Thomaston was responsive and helpful getting resolved.
