Estate of Egon Vicai, Clocks & Decorative Art

Premier Auction Galleries proudly offers the year?s finest multi-source auction. Lots will include property from the William Gwinn Mather family estate. Mather was an Ohio American industrialist, who headed the Cleveland-Cliffs Iron Company for 50 years from 1890 through 1940. Items from the original Bratenahl, Ohio estate (?The Gwinn?) eventually found their place at the Ireland family home in Shaker Heights. Over 100 of these prized pieces are being featured in our next auction. In addition, other items being offered are from the estate of Egon Vicai of Gates Mills, Ohio. Vicai, a Hungarian immigrant, was an engineer at General Electric and an avid collector of fine & decorative arts. Also, items from Jennie Jones, a talented, expressive, and accomplished Cleveland photographer will be up for bids. Jennie has published ?Cleveland: Inside Outside?, a book of the city?s remarkable landmarks and development. Combined, this auction contains an outstanding offering and array of period antiques, bronzes, sterling silver, fine & decorative arts, original photographs, paintings, fine porcelains, oriental antiquities, and other eclectic items of interest. Large collections includes One man's marble collection, Egon Vicai's many French and other clocks, great mahogany and period furniture, and much more.
