Art Of The Hemispheres

Stemming from the collection of Mr. Alvin Curkin, a New Jersey native and Florida transplant, we present a serious collection of both modern art and historical artifacts. Mr. Curkin traveled the globe as he built his extensive collection, which began in the late 1950's. This superb collection highlights both modern and contemporary art of the day, while taking a special interest in the historical art that helped form the Americas. From Native American pieces in both Central and South America, to the Pacific Northwest Indians, encapsulating in craft, sculpture, and the storytelling of figures. Mr. Curkin had a deep appreciation for the evolving history of the hemispheres; the pure importance of how man has built society, and how man views the niches in which people live. As we near the winter months, we invite you to view this 50 lot collection where you will discover an early Warhol creation to a Louise Nevelson cigar box, the well known artists and the unfamiliar art of societies. From Civil War era pottery to Rodin anatomy bronzes, all brought to you from Cloud 10 Art and Collectibles.
