Cowan's Summer Fine & Decorative Arts auction features the musical collection of the Late Irene and Theodore Leverett of North Carolina. The collection includes a wide variety of cylinder and disc music boxes, and fine musical instruments. Among the lots offered from this collection are a Mermod Freres Cylinder Music Box with Matching Table (Lot 134) and a rare Regina Coffin Top Music Box (Lot 137). The decorative arts portion of the auction also includes a strong selection of American, English and Continental silver, most notably a Tiffany Beekman pattern flatware service (Lot 65), a Mexican Modernist sterling coffee service (Lot 86), and a group of Russian silver enameled pieces (Lots 326-329). Furniture highlights include a fine Georgian chest of drawers in burled walnut (Lot 167), a George I cupboard (Lot 166), and two Elizabethan tables (Lots 163 and 179). Also offered is a fine selection of American and European paintings and bronzes including a landscape by William Louis Sonntag (Lot 4), a set of Norman Rockwell Four Seasons lithographs (Lot 22), and an exceptional bronze, Friends Forever, by Demétre Chiparus (Lot 259).
