Eastern States Auction Service is based outside of Ithaca, New York. It primarily offers works of fine art from private collections throughout the eastern United States. The lots at each auction represent a choice selection of artwork chosen according to criteria reflecting a sense of conservation and stewardship. The aim of the auction house is to avail itself of curatorial methodology to obtain the finest pieces for collectors and those interested in art.
We have not endeavored to formally authenticate any piece herein. We have endeavored to describe each offering to the best of our ability based on research and knowledge. The selection is made based on discernment and exclusivity applied to what has been available on the market. We can only guarantee that we have endeavored to the best of our ability to establish the artistic quality and value of each work being offered. We request bidders undertake due diligence before the auction, all research into the pieces offered must by undertaken prior to sale. Please note in this regard that the images of items associated with each lot are an important part of the condition description and should be carefully reviewed. All items may be viewed by interested parties by appointment prior to the auction. Research undertaken after purchase, or any findings and opinions, will not be reason to return lots acquired at auction. All sales are final and non-refundable.
This initial art collection has been researched and cataloged by Raul Delgado-Rodriguez, who has a doctoral degree from Harvard University and was the head of the cataloging department of an upstate New York auction house for seven years.
TERMS OF SALE
The auctioneer has the right at his absolute discretion to refuse any bid. The highest bidder shall be the buyer at the hammer price.
Dispute between bidders - If any dispute arises between two or more bidders, the auctioneer will decide the outcome. The decision of the auctioneer shall be final and absolute.
Condition of items sold - The auctioneer shall not be responsible for the authenticity, genuineness of, estimated selling price of, or defect in any lot, and makes no warranty in connection therewith. No allowance will be made or sale set aside on account of any incorrectness, error in cataloging, or any imperfection not noted. It should be noted that works have not been examined outside of frame. All measurements and sizes are approximate.
Manner of payment - All lots are to be paid in full by cash, bank check, personal check, bank wire, money order or any payment system offered by an auction platform we participate in. If payment is made using a credit card through any such system a 3% addition will be applied to cover the additional cost. Payment must take place in full within three days of close of the auction. Auctioneer reserves the right to hold merchandise until a buyer?s check clears and reserves the right to not accept a check. There will be a $30.00 service charge for any check returned by the bank for any reason.
Shipping - shall be at the expense and liability of the purchaser. Purchased items will be available for shipping once full payment has cleared. Buyers must promptly arrange shipping at their expense. The auction house may provide assistance to the buyer through a third-party if such assistance is requested.
Records - The record of sale kept by the auctioneer and clerk will be taken as final in the event of any dispute.
All lots - to be sold AS IS. ALL SALES FINAL.
Additional terms and conditions - Any additional terms or conditions of sale, added by the auctioneer, shall be announced prior to the auction.
