Cowan?s November 17 American History Auction Auction is comprised of a wide range of early photography, autographs, manuscripts, broadsides, imprints, flags, and ephemera representing the French & Indian War and Revolutionary War through the Civil War, Late Indian Wars-era, and beyond. The auction features a Rare French & Indian War Manuscript Orderly Book Recorded by Captain Nathaniel Perry, 1755-1756 (Lot 3), as well as a Sword and Family Bible identified to Nicholas Gilman, New Hampshire Patriot, Revolutionary War Veteran, and Signer of the US Constitution (Lot 11). An exceptional Confederate States of America Collection featuring documents, broadsides, imprints and relics dating from the Year of Secession in 1861 is the centerpiece of the Civil War offerings (Lot 28), accompanied by numerous Civil War cased images, CDVs, archives, and artwork, as well as additional broadsides and pipes from the Property of N. Flayderman & Co.
