Important Indian Beadwork & More Auction

Collected by Joseph Svacina, one of the white men instrumental, or key to the beginning of the Meskwaki Indian Pow Wow in Tama, Iowa and descended through his family until now, comes one of the finest groups of Native American items we will have the pleasure of offering at auction. Many pieces are directly from the Meskwaki Tribe with many others from other tribes. There is a strong selection of beadwork in various types, including pipe bags, bandolier bag, vests, jackets, moccasins, horse blanket, clubs and tomahawks, fiber bags, roaches, some flint and stone pieces, and many related items. Most items have been authenticated and appraised by professionals in this category. American Indian artifacts not shown include stone, flint, teeth, necklaces and pottery shards. Included in this auction is a Collection of American Decoys including Artist & Factory decoys by Mason’s, Harry V. Shrouds, Hank Walker, Canfield, Charles Perdew, Charles Koepsel, Frankie Lewis, Ron Vick, W.S. Brebach, John F. Mott, Paul Gibson, Perry Wilcoxen, Stanley Ceamon, this collection also has several Hageman repaints. This collection ranges from the east Coast to the Mississippi River; also modern works by Casey Edwards of Wisconsin.
