A collection of fine bronzes including a Valkyrie by Villanis and a Muse by Albert Carrier-Belleuse, a 1770 George III silver tankard, a signed Tiffany lamp, a 1929 Gibson L-4 guitar, antique rifles, pistols, and revolvers, Civil War and other items related to Maj. Gen. Francis P. Blair and family (description below), antique African masks, and furniture including a 44-drawer apothecary, Chippendale, Windsor, and decorated plank chairs, over a dozen antique desks and cupboards, and a life-size "Cycle Americains" French framed poster. Also offered are estate, Native American, Victorian and designer jewelry plus vintage designer handbags including Pucci and Louis Vuitton. Maj. Gen. Francis P. Blair items include Civil War currency, military letters and ephemera including a photograph of Maj. Gen. Blair and his officers, plus furniture, a "Blair" door knocker, political pins, gold medals, awards, and Colonial currency from a descendant's collection of the Blair, Henrotin, and Price families. The most notable members of the Blair family are Francis Preston Blair Jr. (1821-1875) and his son Francis Preston Blair II (1856-1914). The elder Blair influenced U.S. politics as a jurist, U.S. Senator and Congressman, and a soldier (Civil War General). His son graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in West Point in 1877 and after short service in the artillery branch of the U.S. Army, obtained his law and medical degrees from the University of Missouri. Francis II had a legal career and was involved in the mining business in the western states. The Henrotin family was connected to the Blair family through marriage and items include those from Charles Henrotin (1843-1914) who was born in Belgium and moved to the U.S. in 1861. Henrotin amassed money and political power in the stock market and banking and is considered the principle founder of the Chicago Stock Exchange. He served as consuls of Belgium and Turkey as well as being a director of the Chicago Colombian Exposition.
